Lower Dir, January 01: Deputy Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Liaqat Baloch, while addressing the monthly training gathering of Jamaat-e-Islami Lower Dir, said that improving relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan is one of the most important needs of the time. For lasting peace in the region, economic stability, and mutual trust, both countries must move forward with wisdom, patience, and a well-thought-out strategy.
He stated that Afghan refugees are our religious, moral, and humanitarian brothers. Harsh treatment, insensitivity, and forced measures against refugees do not solve problems; rather, they further complicate them. The state should adopt a soft and humane approach towards refugees, provide them adequate time, and ensure facilities for their dignified return. The Afghan government should also demonstrate wisdom and seriousness instead of emotional reactions, keeping ground realities in view.
Liaqat Baloch said that the deterioration of Pak-Afghan relations harms not only the governments but also the people of both countries. Trade, education, employment, and peace all suffer due to this tension. There is a strong need to resolve border issues, security concerns, and diplomatic differences through dialogue.
Criticizing Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), he said that PTI must abandon protest politics and non-serious behavior and show political maturity in national affairs. At a time when the country is facing severe economic, political, and security crises, stubbornness, ego-driven politics, and the misuse of social media are damaging to the country.
The Deputy Ameer further said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has been ruling Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the past 13 years, yet the province continues to suffer from severe misgovernance, corruption, and institutional decay. The systems of health, education, local government, police, and land revenue (patwar) present a bleak picture. Reforms remain limited to slogans, with no visible improvement on the ground.
He clarified that many of the province’s problems are neither related to the establishment nor the federal government, but are the result of the provincial government’s incompetence, wrong priorities, and poor governance. Had there been sincerity, many issues could have been resolved at the provincial level even today, but unfortunately, the government has chosen blame-shifting instead of serious governance.
Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami is the only political party that believes in principled politics, integrity, and public service. The party is not struggling for power, but for systemic reform, the eradication of corruption, and the restoration of people’s rights.
In conclusion, he urged party workers to play a more active role in the fields of dawah, training, and public service, and to convey Jamaat-e-Islami’s message to the public as a symbol of hope, integrity, and positive change.
