One can’t find even single public school offering quality education in Karachi, says JI leader
JI supremo inaugurates restored Bahadur Yar Jang School in Karachi
Tasked Gulberg Town to upgrade 17 schools by end of session
KARACHI: JULY 29: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Engr Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has said that provision of quality education to the nation was an obligation to the state and the government, however — the two failed miserably in this regard.
The JI supremo expressed these views while addressing a ceremony in connection with inauguration of upgraded and restored Bahadur Yar Jang School in Gulbarg Town, here on Tuesday.
He was accompanied by Gulberg Town Chairman Nusratullah and others at a small but graceful inaugural ceremony at the school. Earlier, he visited the school and interacted with parents and teachers.
The JI Ameer while addressing the ceremony said that it seemed the state stepped back from its very basic obligation. He said that one couldn’t find even just a single public sector school, offering quality education in Karachi.
He said that the education budget for the Sindh province clocked in at Rs631 billion, yet over 10 million children in the province were out of the school. He further said that the majority of the funds were syphoned to corruption.
He said that the JI believes in uniformed education policy, means that the same curriculum and the same quality education should be offered free of cost to the students.
On the occasion, he paid a rich tribute to Gulberg Town Chairman and his team over their commitment and dedication towards the progress and development of the town. He said that the town established six open air gyms among several other projects. He also tasked the town to restore at least 17 public sector schools in the town.
He said that unfortunately, the Pakistan People Party government in Sindh wanted to keep all powers with it but the regime never delivered.
He added that the JI had been fighting on the dual fronts — struggle to regain administrative and monetary powers for towns and union councils, whereas the other dimension was the service sector.
He said that despite all the nefarious tactics employed by the PPP in the elections, the JI emerged as the single largest party in the local government elections when it comes to the number of votes.
The JI supremo also planted a tree in connection with the ‘Lets Make Karachi Green’ initiative by the JI. He interacted with students, teachers and parents. A large number of area residents participated in the graceful ceremony.
