PM Shehbaz phones JI Emir, condoles death of Ameerul Azeem

Chaudhry Shujaat, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri, Khawaja Saad Rafique also offer condolences

LAHORE, July 26: Condolences continue to pour in from across Pakistan and abroad over the demise of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan's former Secretary General, Ameerul Azeem.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif telephoned JI Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and the bereaved family to express his heartfelt condolences. The prime minister paid tribute to the late leader's religious, political and national services, prayed for the elevation of his ranks in the hereafter and expressed sympathy with the grieving family.
Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain also expressed profound grief over Ameerul Azeem's passing, praising his religious and national contributions while extending condolences to his family.
Patron-in-Chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, telephoned Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman from Canada to offer condolences. He prayed for the forgiveness and elevated status of the deceased and for patience and fortitude for the bereaved family.
Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique visited Mansoorah, where he met Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman and the late Ameerul Azeem's family at his residence. He offered Fateha, expressed his condolences and paid tribute to the deceased's religious, political and national services.
The Embassy of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan in Islamabad also issued a condolence message, describing Ameerul Azeem as a dignified, visionary and influential leader who devoted most of his life to the service of Islam and society. The embassy extended condolences to Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, JI Foreign Affairs Secretary Luqman Qazi, the party's members, the bereaved family and all mourners, praying that Allah grant the deceased the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous and bless his family with patience.
Jamia Ashrafia Lahore also expressed deep sorrow over Ameerul Azeem's demise. In a joint condolence statement, Principal Maulana Qari Arshad Ubaid, Sheikh-ul-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Yousaf Khan, Hafiz Abu Ubaid, Maulana Hafiz Zubair Hassan, Maulana Owais Hassan, Maulana Najeeb ur Rehman and other scholars said the deceased had dedicated his entire life to the service of Islam, Pakistan and humanity. They said his scholarly, religious and organisational contributions would always be remembered, and prayed for his forgiveness and for patience for his family and JI workers.
Abdul Malik Mujahid, president of the Central Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith Saudi Arabia, also expressed grief over Ameerul Azeem's death. In his condolence message, he prayed that Allah elevate the deceased's ranks, grant him the highest place in Paradise, illuminate his grave, compensate Jamaat-e-Islami for this great loss and bless his family with patience.
