Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman Urges Government to Abandon Two-State Rhetoric
JI Emir Declares Nation Will Never Accept Subjugation to US
Lahore – Oct 4: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rahman has strongly criticized the government for its repeated emphasis on the so-called two-state solution, declaring that the people of Pakistan will never accept recognition of Israel or any move towards the Abraham Accords.
Addressing the Gaza Million March at Wahdat Road Rehman said:
“Mr. Prime Minister, you are on the wrong track. The United States is a declining power, and yet you are busy appeasing Trump, even nominating him for a Nobel Prize. The rulers must know that the nation will resist with the power of faith any attempt to impose recognition of Israel through force.”
The march, organized to express solidarity with the Palestinian people, saw thousands of men, women, and children waving Palestinian flags. The venue echoed with slogans and anthems in support of Gaza and Hamas. Senior leaders including JI Vice Emir Liaqat Baloch, Secretary General Ameerul Azeem, Dr. Humaima Tariq, JI Lahore Emir Ziauddin Ansari Advocate, Deputy Secretary Azhar Iqbal Hassan, and Azhar Bilal also addressed the participants. The gathering concluded with prayers led by JI central leader Hafiz Idrees. Deputy Secretary General Sheikh Usman Farooq, Secretary Information Shakil Turabi, JI Women wing and Islami Jamiat Talba leaders were also present.
Rehman reiterated that Hamas represents resistance and those who oppose it are nothing but agents of imperial powers. He praised Hamas for its wise and principled response to Trump’s so-called peace plan, pointing out that even Trump was compelled to urge Israel to halt attacks after Hamas’ stance. “For over two years of Israeli aggression on Gaza, not once have the rulers of Pakistan or the opposition condemned Netanyahu or Trump,” he noted.
He further revealed that in his recent contact with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he had categorically conveyed that Pakistan’s stance on Palestine must remain national and principled. “When the Prime Minister said there was disagreement between the PML-N and JI on the two-state solution, I reminded him that our stance is the same as that of Quaid-e-Azam and the entire nation: Israel is an occupying force and Pakistan will never recognize it.”
The JI Emir condemned Israeli aggression on the Global Flotilla and demanded that the government immediately intensify efforts to secure the release of Senator Mushtaq Ahmed and other international aid activists detained by Israel.
He also called upon the people of Pakistan to come out on October 7 in support of the Free Palestine movement, and announced that a Gaza Million March would be held in Karachi on Sunday. Looking ahead, he urged the nation to join JI’s Ijtema-e-Aam at Minar-e-Pakistan on November 21–23, pledging that under the slogan “Nizam Badal Do” (Change the System), this historic gathering would mark the dawn of a new era of transformation in Pakistan’s politics and governance.
