JI Emir Urges Muslim Leaders to Take Practical Steps Against Israeli Aggression in Gaza
Alor Setar, Kedah, Malaysia – September 16: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has called on rulers of Muslim world to take concrete measures to stop Israeli aggression in Gaza.
Speaking as guest of honour at the 71st Annual Central Conference of the Pan-Malaysian Islamic Party (PAS), Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman stressed the urgent need for unity among the Muslim Ummah. He underlined that without progress in education and technology, the Muslim world cannot reclaim its lost glory.
“The United States and other colonial powers have seized control of the resources of Muslim countries. It is time Muslim rulers redirected these resources toward their own people,” Rehman said. He further emphasized the importance of enhancing economic and trade cooperation between Muslim states and encouraging exchanges of youth delegations.
The conference, held under the theme Muslim Ummah International Forum 2025 (MUNIF), brought together leaders of Islamic movements, scholars, and policymakers from across South Asia and beyond. Among the speakers were Prof. Mujeeb ur Rahman, Vice Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh, along with other distinguished leaders and intellectuals. Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan’s Vice Ameer, Dr. Atta ur Rehman, also accompanied Hafiz Naeem at the event.
During his visit, Hafiz Naeem held a detailed meeting with Abdul Hadi Awang, leader of PAS, veteran Malaysian politician, and former Opposition Leader in Parliament. Both leaders exchanged views on the Palestine issue, as well as challenges faced by South and Southeast Asian nations. They agreed that Islamic movements must intensify efforts for Muslim unity, peace, and socio-economic development. Rehman particularly highlighted the need to strengthen ties among Islamic youth organizations worldwide.
In addition, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman met with Dr. Hayat Khan, President of the Islamic Circle of Malaysia (ICM), and Rojhan Syed, head of ICM Kedah state, along with other leaders. The discussions focused on Palestine and other issues of mutual interest.
