KARACHI: Nov 06: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan Ameer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman on Friday said his party’s core mission was to serve the public, contrasting it with the ruling Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), which he said prioritised corruption over governance.

Addressing inauguration ceremonies for the newly renovated Jamaluddin Afghani School in Nazimabad’s Aurangabad Quarter and the Pak Wonder Ground Park near Khilafat Chowk in Paposh Nagar, the JI chief urged citizens to break free from the corrupt ruling elite and stand up for their fundamental rights.

The events were organized by the Nazimabad Town administration. Senior party figures, including JI Karachi chief Monem Zafar, General Secretary Taufiquddin Siddiqui, Central District chief Haris Ali Khan, Nazimabad Town Chairman Syed Muhammad Muzaffar, and Information Secretary Zahid Askari, also attended the event.
Hafiz Naeem emphasized that providing quality education and opportunities for sports was a constitutional duty of the state. He noted that Karachi generates 95 percent of the provincial budget and drives the national economy, yet its residents remain deprived of basic municipal amenities and decent schooling for their children.

"The government collects all taxes from the public but fails to provide basic necessities," he said, adding that public schools could transform into premier educational institutions if granted adequate resources and focus.
Highlighting his party's performance in local government, the JI chief said that despite the Sindh government withholding administrative powers and funds, Jamaat-e-Islami has delivered beyond its designated mandate.

"We will not abandon our work halfway or leave behind pending files. We have practically demonstrated that honest leadership can bring real improvements even within limited authority," he remarked, pledging to continue the struggle for Karachi’s municipal rights.
Hafiz Naeem highlighted that JI-led administration has upgraded 73 public schools across its nine towns, resulting in a noticeable surge in student enrollments. He reiterated the party's goal to overhaul every municipal school under its purview before completing its term, aiming to surpass private institutions in educational standards.

He also recalled the historical legacy of neighborhoods such as Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, Federal B Area, New Karachi, and Liaquatabad, pointing out that public school alumni from these areas—including national figures like Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan—went on to achieve global prominence.

Speaking at the occasion, JI Karachi chief Monem Zafar Khan affirmed that the party’s journey of "construction through education" continues to advance successfully. He stated that alongside restoring parks, playgrounds, and road infrastructure, improving public education, student enrollment, and teaching standards remains the party's top priority.
