JI Emir Calls Deaths of Three Pakistanis in Somalia Operation Tragic

Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman has described the killing of three Pakistani nationals in firing by pirates during an operation by Somali forces asa deeply tragic and distressing incident.
In a statement posted on X, Rehman said efforts were made at every level to secure the safe recovery of the Pakistanis, including protests and repeated contacts with the government and relevant state institutions.
He said he had personally approached the government and its institutions several times, but the government of Pakistan failed to take timely and effective measures to protect the Pakistani nationals.
“The tragedy is compounded by the fact that the protest camp of the affected families in Karachi was also dismantled,” he said.
The JI emir said the government’s inadequate efforts and negligence had contributed to the loss of three Pakistani lives, leaving their families devastated.
He said the incident was not merely a loss for three families but a loss for the entire nation.
He called on the government to determine responsibility for the tragedy and make the facts surrounding the incident public.
