Governor’s Rule, Emergency Won’t Save Failing Government: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman

Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has opposed the imposition of governor’s rule and an emergency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying such measures indicate that a government is nearing its end.
In a statement posted on X, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said governor’s rule and an emergency were not solutions to the province’s problems. He said when those in power resorted to such measures to govern, it was a sign that their government’s days were numbered. He said the anti-democratic course initiated by Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) parties during the regime-change process had continued ever since.
Criticising the PPP and PML-N, the JI chief said their political history was marked by the imposition of governor’s rule and a refusal to accept public mandates. He said the system imposed through Form 47 had now been exposed as a complete failure.
