What happened in 1974
- Maulana Maududi laid the foundation stone of the mosque at Mansurah. All-Pakistan gathering of Jamaat members was held at Mansurah.
- The movement for the protection of the Finality of Prophethood was launched. The Qadianis were ultimately declared a non-Muslim minority.
- Maulana Maududi addressed a Muslim Students Association gathering in New York.
- Mian Tufail Muhammad participated in the Muslim World League conference in Makkah and the conference of the Supreme Council for Mosques.
- Jamaat’s work in Azad Jammu and Kashmir was formally named Jamaat-e-Islami Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Maulana Abdul Bari was elected its first Ameer.
- Candidates supported by Jamaat won all registered-graduate seats in the university senates of Karachi University, the University of Peshawar and the University of the Punjab.
