Health and Wellbeing
Healthcare as a Right and an Amanah
Healthcare as a Right and an Amanah
Every citizen must have access to essential healthcare regardless of income, location, gender or political affiliation.
Pakistan’s health system will be rebuilt from the neighbourhood upward. Primary health, preventive care, maternal and child health, nutrition, vaccination, clean water, sanitation and mental wellbeing will take precedence over politically visible but inaccessible projects.
Key Policy Pillars
- Local Primary Healthcare: Strengthen basic health units, dispensaries, maternal and child health centres and neighbourhood-level healthcare services.
- District Health Networks: Establish integrated referral systems connecting community health workers, BHUs, rural health centres, district hospitals and tertiary hospitals.
- Preventive Healthcare: Expand vaccination, disease surveillance, school health screening, nutrition programmes and community health awareness.
- Maternal and Child Health: Improve antenatal and postnatal care, skilled birth attendance, emergency obstetric referrals and maternal nutrition.
- Women's Healthcare: Expand cancer screening, safe and dignified healthcare facilities and women's health-service support.
- Affordable Medicines: Introduce transparent pooled procurement and public monitoring of essential medicine availability.
- Nutrition and Household Wellbeing: Address malnutrition through targeted nutrition support and economic measures that protect household purchasing power.
- Mental Health and Addiction Prevention: Develop national mental-health services, confidential counselling, addiction treatment and drug-prevention programmes.
- Youth Health and Protection: Introduce anti-bullying measures, digital and screen-health education and counselling in educational institutions.
- Sports and Recreation: Develop sports grounds, parks, walking tracks, public gyms and safe recreational facilities in cities, towns and villages.
- Senior Citizens: Improve access to pensions, healthcare screening, essential medicines and public-service facilities.
- Persons with Disabilities: Ensure accessible public buildings, education, vocational training, digital services and employment opportunities.
- Environmental Health: Improve clean water, sanitation, waste disposal, pollution control, afforestation and environmental protection.
