What type of Islamic
revolution Jamaat wants in Pakistan? Would it follow Iran and Afghanistan, or it has some
other model before it?
Jamaat has repeatedly said that its
professed revolution would neither be Iranian nor Afghani, it will be pure Islamic
revolution. It will not belong to one group and will not end up in theocracy of some
special school. It will be brought about in consultation with those common Muslims who are
loyal to Allah and His Prophet (p.b.u.h), follow the tenets of Quran and Sunnah and
honestly stick to the bond of obedience to Allah. We have in our national Constitution,
the whole framework of this revolution, but it is not being put to practice. The Council
of Islamic Ideology has provided a practical plan and has indicated where in the
Constitution and the laws, appropriate amendments were required. The C.I.I. has
representation of all religious schools and if need be, it can be re-constituted, and
broadened. Pakistan therefore, does not need any "model" of Islamic revolution.
The 50-years long experience of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan is more than any other
Islamic movement on the globe. It has contacts with all sister movements. Then
Jamaat has in its folds, the best brain stock concerning every sector and
specialization. It has people well educated both in the old and new systems. It has a
bright history and it believes that it can bring about a worth following model Islamic
revolution in Pakistan, which will be free of all prejudices, will constitute a team of
clear-minded people who fully understand the contemporary issues, and at the same time are
firm in their love for Allah and His Prophet (p.b.u.h.). Briefly speaking, the system the
Jamaat wishes to introduce will be one upholding 'adl' (justice) and fraternity and
one that will uproot, for good, all the manifestations of oppression and the rich-poor
gaps and inequities. Justice will be done, even before the people ask for it.
