Jamaat's Programme of Bringing About Change

Question:

Jamaat-e-Islami is organizing public against the present government and the system in practice. The people ask would it take part in the elections under the 1973 constitution and change the system through majority in the Assembly, or else the party wishes to reach Islamabad following some short cut?

Answer:

Correctly speaking the present rulers came to power through short cut; whereas the Jamaat never at all so wishes. These are the people who practice "drawing room" politics. It, in fact, is a "club" of big feudal lords and capitalists, that the British trained, and when these elites reached "maturity" the Imperialists transferred power to them -- their "pupils", who are now being remotely controlled from the west. In turn these "show piece" rulers work as tools to enhance here the western ways and culture. They take care of their "masters'" interests and channelize local capital to European and American coffers. It is our poor labourer and the people who work and sweat, but their hard-earned money is looted by these so-called rulers and deposited in the banks in America, UK and Switzerland. Appearing in one or the other garb, this special interest band has been ruling the country for the last 50-years, exercising control of the whole nation. When people rise to initiate a movement to break this chain of oppression and regimentation, they are deceptively trapped in some new slogan. The power hungry politicians join the newly shaped club and reach the corridors of authority through this short cut. This privileged group has been frequently changing faces and ruling us, with the sole purpose of safeguarding its own interest and the wealth it has amassed.

The only way to get rid of this elitist class, is the one we are following. It is characterized by mass awareness creation and cultivating the good sense of proper understanding. We need to convince the people that they are being mercilessly plundered.........! People ask us: "you are disciplined; you are honest and have organized a team of pious individuals — even our opponents acknowledge the high morality of our members and that they are not defaulters at any level. It is the special blessing of Allah the Almighty that none of our member ever indulged in scandals concerning allotments of plots or some other material gains ---------, so the people ask: "how is it then you do not come to power?" The simple answer is: we do not believe in short cuts. We do not join the ruling junta in their acts of tyranny and oppression. We wish never to come to power through back-door efforts and drawing-room politics. We want to train people, concientize them and then reach the seat of power with their free will and blessing.
