APDM to launch anti-Musharraf movement if Judges not restored: Qazi

LAHORE, Mar 27: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that the nation wants to see all sacked judges reinstated and Gen retd Pervez Musharraf out of the president's House and standing in the dock.

"If the Gen Musharraf was not impeached and the judges he unconstitutionally sacked were not reinstated, then APDM will consider launching "Go Musharraf Go" movement and support the lawyers' movement for restoration of judiciary. We hope that Mian Nawaz Sharif will also join the movement if the Judges were not restored," he said in a statement issued by the JI Media Cell on Thursday.

Qazi said people have rejected Gen Musharraf and his party in the elections, but the President's House is still busy conspiring against public mandate and creating obstacles in judges' restoration. He said Bush administration is also afraid of judges' restoration and US ministerial mission has come to make further way for Gen Musharraf and to pressurize the new government against restoring judges. Qazi said after the number of missing persons has increased after the unconstitutional sacking of chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhri, and US fears he will order their recovery after reinstatement.

Qazi expressed hopes that if Judges were not restored then Mian Nawaz Sharif will fulfill his promise to join the movement for restoration of Judges.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad said Gen Musharraf assassinated the parliament on Oct. 12, 99, committed repeated murders of the constitution, and then unconstitutionally sacked the whole judiciary. During his tenure, massive massacres of innocent people were committed in tribal areas, Balochistan and Karachi, innocent girls of Jamia Hafsa were mercilessly martyred, and hundreds of Pakistanis were handed over to US for the greed of Dollars. Gen Musharraf's tenure is full of corruption and national assets were sold for peanuts. He changed six decades national policy on Kashmir issue and left entire Kashmiri population at the mercy of Indian army, whereas he joined US war against Afghanistan despite that people opposed it. The whole country is in flames due to that blunder committed by an individual. He said the list of national crimes committed by Gen Musharraf is further long and enough to impeach him. He said the nation wants to see Gen Musharraf out of president House and in the dock for his crimes, and it is the duty of the new parliament to fulfill this public desire at the earliest.
