    Qazi, Zardari discuss politics
 

LAHORE, Mar 26: PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday rang Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmad, says a JI press release.

Both the leaders discussed prevailing political situation. Qazi Hussain Ahmad congratulated Zardari on forming new central government by his party and expressed his greetings for the new government in the future. Qazi also prayed that Allah grant courage to PPPP leaders for fulfilling the public expectations.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad also lauded the statements by the heads of ruling coalition, Asif Zardari and Mian Nawaz Sharif, and the new prime minister Yusuf Raza Gilani that now parliament would make all the decisions instead of an individual. He also appreciated the opinion of the ruling coalition leaders that our country should not be turned into a killing field for the sake of others' war. He said Asif Zardari and Nawaz Sharif have represented the national aspirations by conveying this message to the visiting American ministerial mission.

Qazi assured Asif Zardari his all out cooperation if the new government gave priority to national security and sovereignty, and chose new directions for the national policies. He said the nation wanted to the see the country as a sovereign state among the comity of nations, and a heavy responsibility rested on the PPPP to restore Pakistan's position and prestige among the comity of nations according to the nation's aspirations.

Qazi said if merit was restored in the country, all sacked judges including chief justice Iftikhar Chaudhri were restored and masses were provided with justice, then country would march towards progress.
