LAHORE, Mar 12: Jamaat-e-Islami has congratulated the
leadership of Pan Malaysian Islamist party (PAS) on their victory in
recent elections.
In their messages to PAS leader Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, vice
president Nasruddin Mat Essa, chief minister of Kelantan province
Nik Abdul Aziz and their ally, Democratic Action Party (DAP) leader
Anwar Ebrahim and his wife Azizah Wan, the JI leaders expressed best
wishes for their future.
The messages issued by JI ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad, naib ameer Prof
Khurshid Ahmad, Secretary general Munawar Hasan and foreign affairs
director Abdul Ghaffar Aziz. The JI leaders expressed hopes that
with the success of Islamist parties, Malaysia would witness
stability and progress. Terming the victory of PAS in three
provinces as welcoming, the JI leaders expressed hopes that the
party would serve people irrespective of religious and racial
considerations. They also expressed hopes that Islamic movement
would gain strength and progress with the success of PAS and would
provide much needed strength and courage to justice loving people
all over the world.
