LAHORE, Mar 11: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmad has strongly condemned Tuesday's bomb blasts in Lahore and expressed sorrow over the loss of innocent lives.

In his reaction to the blasts, Qazi said friends of Gen Retd Pervez Musharraf were behind all the bomb blasts and terrorism in the country. He said the caretaker interior minister had admitted involvement of America and India in terrorism inside Pakistan.

Qazi said the perpetrators of blasts want to sabotage the process of new government formation in the country. Qazi said bomb blats right under the nose of the FIA was the worst kind of failure of country's security agencies and Gen Pervez Musharraf must step down immediately by accepting his failure. Qazi emphasized that Gen Musahrraf's blunder of jumping into American war against terror has thrown the country deep into lawlessness and dozens of people are dying and getting wounded every day. But Gen Musharraf is still stubborn to continue in illegal power despite his defeat in Feb 18 elections. He said the nation considers Gen Musharraf an agent of colonists, and he must not test the patience of people any longer than what they are faced with today, and step down voluntarily.

Qazi prayed that departed souls should be blessed by Almighty Allah and the wounded get well soon. He also expressed sympathies with the victims' families.
