LAHORE, Jan 25: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that Pakistan army is being used in tribal areas and Swat for protecting American interests. Instead of fighting against its own nation, Pakistan Army should change its policy, without which peace can never be established in the country, he said while delivering Friday sermon at Mansoorah.

Qazi said Gen Musharraf has gone to give the message to the West that they should only consider him as ample substitute of democracy in Pakistan. "Gen Musharraf has asked western leaders not to insist on democracy in Pakistan since it won't be useful for their interests which only he can protect in a better way," said Qazi.

Qazi asked Pakistan Army to evolve its policies according to the interests of Muslims and Pakistan, and reject American agenda and dictation. Qazi expressed sorrow that military operation in tribal areas and Swat has forced tens of thousands of people to migrate to Bannu and other areas, while another thousands of them were left homeless and taking refuge under open sky in tough winter cold. He said nation should come forward to help these affectees at this troubled time.

Qazi expressed concerns that India has recently launched an Israeli satellite which is monitoring Pakistani military, nuclear and sensitive installations beside army movements. He said Iran has protested against this move but Pakistani government has kept silence which is incomprehensible.

Qazi said America has caused violence in the whole world just to impose its cruel system in the name of new world order. By creating a so-called terror of Al-Qaeda and Taliban, America has been creating lawlessness and bloodshed in Pakistan for a long time now. He expressed sorrow that Pakistani society was in the grip of civil and military bureaucracy which inherited "divide and rule" tradition of British colonists and has been practicing them like its masters. He said whether it was sectarian or linguistic riots in the country, bureaucracy and administration has always been behind it, and they created certain groups and factions themselves to divide the society. He said Indian and Israeli agents penetrate into these groups for their own purposes, and it is exactly happening at this juncture since America, India and Israel are fully intervening in tribal areas and balochistan by making Pakistani Muslims fight against Muslim brothers.

Qazi said those tribal people who liberated the part of Azad Kashmir from Indian Army by sacrificing their lives and who always stood against any aggression from the western side, have been made enemies of the country by killing their children with bombardment, shelling and military operations. "How can the wounds of these patriotic tribesmen be healed now," he asked, adding that "do we give money to Pakistan Army keeping our children hungry so that it should serve the interests of colonists and open fire upon its own nation?"

He cited the statement of US Admiral Fallon, saying that Gen Kiyani is aware that Pakistan faces no danger from India but is in serious danger from terrorists and extremists on western border. He expressed sorrow that Washington is using Pakistan army directly for its own interests.
