LAHORE, Apr 18: Jamaat-e-Islami naib ameer Hafiz Idris
has warned that US was trying to access Pakistan's nuclear program
by offering new financial aids for the new government. Rulers must
display courage to end American intervention in national affairs, he
said while delivering Friday sermon at Mansoorah mosque.
He expressed sorrow that impeachment of president Pervez Musharraf
is being delayed despite that he committed treason by violating the
constitution several times for his personal interests. He said if
judges were not restored within 30 days then a volcano would erupt
in the country. He also condemned the recent increase in petrol
prices saying government must reduce the profit of oil companies for
providing relief to the masses.
He expressed sorrow over the continued load shedding saying it has
destroyed the agriculture and industrial sectors. He also criticized
the Indus water treaty signed by Gen Ayub Khan, saying the treaty
was like a death warrant of the agriculture sector.
Idris expressed sorrow that those getting billions of rupees loans
written off were roaming freely while defaulters of few thousands
were in prisons. He said Asif Zardari has closed the door of
indiscriminate accountability by quashing his corruption cases under
NRO. He said those who made tall claims of economic progress of the
country during previous regime had now fled the country with
plundered public wealth. He said Gen Musharraf was also preparing to
leave the country at some opportune time. He advised the prime
minister to take strict action against those who plundered national
wealth and got loans of billions or rupees written off.
