LAHORE, Apr 10: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad on Thursday called former federal minister Dr Sher Afgan Niazi on phone and condemned the violence committed against him.

According to a press release, Qazi termed the incident shameful and expressed sympathies with him. He praised Dr Sher Afgan for exercising patience on the incident and manner in which he controlled the response in Mianwali. He said his patience increased his honor.

Meanwhile, Qazi also contacted Karachi Bar Association Gen Secretary Naeem Qureshi on phone and condemned the violent incidents of Wednesday particularly the torture, arson and burning alive of lawyers. Qazi expressed solidarity and sympathies with the lawyers' community. Qazi said those who burnt the lawyers alive were not humans but beasts and everyone knows who they were. Qazi said MQM has now become completely exposed before the nation due its criminal character. Qazi also expressed sorrow and sympathies with Naeem Qureshi on the incident of setting ablaze of his house by miscreants. He said lawyers struggle has written new chapter in national history and their sacrifices would always be remembered.
