LAHORE, Feb 29: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that the root cause of all evils prevailing in the country is Islamabad's role as US ally in the so-called war against terror.

It is the hatred and anger against the pro-American policies that people rejected Musharraf and his allies in Feb 18 polls, he said while delivering Friday sermon at Mansoorah mosque.

Qazi said people did not vote for the parties that won elections that they should continue US slavery and implementing her agenda in the country. He asked the new parliamentary leaders the reason behind their frequent visits of US embassy and announcement of supporting war against terror, which in fact is the war against Muslims.

Qazi said if policies of Gen Musharraf and America were continued any further, it would be an insult to the public mandate and nation would not tolerate such a situation. He said the time has come for Islamabad to tell Washington unequivocally that Pakistan Army could no longer be used against its own people.

Qazi said new government in Islamabad can't progress successfully unless it got rid of Washington's agenda by representing the public mandate in true sense. He said new government will have to recall the army from tribal areas, Swat and Balochistan otherwise people think it to be protecting US interests like Gen Musharraf. He said new rulers must keep in mind that the reason of public hatred against Gen Musharraf and his stooges was that they waged US war on their own nation. They killed innocent civilians by bombing and shelling on villages, killing thousands of innocent women in Jamia Hafsa with Phosphorus Bombs.

Qazi said Washington officials are making open claims that they have close eye on formation of new government in Islamabad, and that new regime would be an effective partner of Washington. He asked new rulers to interpret Washington's claims that Pakistani laws were changed on their prompting, including removal of Quranic verses from syllabi, amendments in Hudood Ordinance and others. Qazi said Gen Musharraf sacked entire judiciary because judgement was to be pronounced against his elections in military uniform.

Qazi said America is waging a deliberate war against Muslims to impose neo colonialism and immoral western culture on them. He cited example of Palestine where Israeli army was killing innocent civilians including minor children, women and elders for ethnic cleansing of Gaza. Qazi said Islamabad should consult friendly nations like China to get rid of US coercion, and warned that present policies are taking the country towards devastation and country had better be ridden of them at the earliest.
