LAHORE, Feb 22: Veteran leader of Kashmiri freedom
struggle and president of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC),
Syed Ali Gilani has congratulated the newly elected members of
Pakistani parliament, reminding them that the power is a test for
them to fulfill the pubic sentiments including that of whole hearted
support to Kashmiri freedom movement to liberate the Muslim majority
state from illegal occupation of Indian army.
He stated this in an open letter to the newly elected members of
Pakistani assemblies which was released to the press by
Jamaat-e-Islami media cell on Friday.
Gilani said on this happy occasion I want to remind you that if
Jammu and Kashmir were liberated from illegal Indian occupation, the
state would have been a part of Pakistan today and its people had
also voted like other citizens of Pakistan. He said Indian army has
killed over five hundred thousand Kashmiris so far to continue its
occupation. He said people of Kashmir consider themselves part of
Pakistan and in the past they were accused of not struggling on
their own against the occupants, but now when they were waging a
freedom struggle the rulers in Pakistan have betrayed them for the
sake of US pleasure, economic benefits and friendship with India.
Gilani said Kashmiri people have waged a historic struggle against
brutalities and atrocities of Indian army, and are still not given
up their struggle despite American pressure and global arrangements
against Muslim nations to dub their freedom struggle as terrorism.
He said the proof of Kashmiris courage and commitment could be
gauged from the sacrifices of five hundred thousand lives, while
tens of thousands are still in the Indian jails and torture centers
where their lives and limbs are being crushed gradually.
Gilani said despite the betrayal of Pakistani rulers, the love of
Pakistan among Kashmiri Muslims have not become any lesser, though
their hearts bleed over Pakistan's anti-Muslim policies but they
still cry over Pakistani miseries and torments. He said former
Pakistani parliament did nothing practical for the cause of Kashmiri
freedom struggle but the recent electoral results have again
rekindled the hope of patriotic and futuristic decisions in
Pakistan.
He said Kashmiris are neither against negotiations with India nor
support the bloodshed, but India has a long history of betrayals and
lies at the state level. He said it was high time Pakistani rulers
should stopped dancing on Indian tunes and play a decisive and
patriotic role in liberating Kashmir. He said Kashmir is the destiny
and life line of Pakistan, and Kashmiris will continue their
struggle for the completion of Pakistan under all circumstances and
in face of every problem and challenge. He said if Pakistani
parliamentarians could become the voice of Kashmiris, they would
become immortal and play their part in realizing the dream of a
greater Pakistan in the region. He said Kashmiri freedom struggle
will continue till reaching logical end, even if we lived or died.
