LAHORE, Feb 19: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer and MMA President Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that after the opinion polls, the results of Monday's elections proved beyond doubts that nation has rejected president Gen Pervez Musharraf.

In a statement on Tuesday, Qazi Hussain Ahmad said despite using all state resources and spending public exchequer could not saved Gen Musharraf from electoral defeat, therefore he must resign as per his announcement to relieve the nation. He said victory of PML-N and PPP under the present circumstances is a crucial responsibility, and he was praying the winning parties could come up to public expectations.

Qazi said the role of chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad chaudhri, those judges refusing to take oath under PCO, lawyers movement and brave struggle of media have caused unforgettable effects on the present electoral results. He said the winning parties were lucky enough to have a chance to restore judiciary and rid the nation of unconstitutional president, to continue country's march on the road to democracy.
