LAHORE, Feb 15: Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Qazi Hussain
Ahmad has taken exception to President Gen Pervez Musharraf's
statements and said president is using threatening language against
the nation and wants to use force to bring people to polling
stations and stop them from elections boycott against their will.
Qazi said this while delivering Friday sermon at Mansoorah mosque
and addressing the participants of central training workshop. Qazi
Hussain said it is unbecoming of anyone holding the office of the
president to be harsh to his nation and an easy prey for the
enemies. Qazi also warned that if PPP and PML-N formed a coalition
government with Musharraf's party, the nation would reject it
considering as part of a deal. He said APDM would continue its
movement after the Feb 18 elections for removing Gen Musharraf,
restoring judiciary and establishing a system based on justice.
Qazi said all the parties contesting elections are demanding share
in power from the establishment, which is being closely observed by
the nation. Qazi said APDM boycotted the elections because it is
just a drama staged by Gen Musharraf to legitimize the illegal and
unconstitutional measures of Nov 3, 07 and other taken in the last
eight years. He said those contesting elections and casting votes
would become part of the drama to strengthen the military dictator
who played havoc with the national institutions and national
security and unity.
