LAHORE, Feb 11: Jamaat-e-Isalmi secretary general Syed
Munawar Hasan has taken strong exception to the statement of US
Defense Minister Robert Gates that Al-Qaeda and Taliban were a
serious threat for Islamabad, terming it a direct intervention in
Pakistan's affairs.
According to a statement on Monday, Munawar Hasan said Pakistan is
not under threat from Al-Qaeda and Taliban, but from the US and its
allies. Munawar also warned that US is nearing a devastating fate
due to its cruel and aggressive policies and the dooms day for
Washington is not far away.
Munawar said Washington has unleashed a reign of terror and
bloodshed all over the globe particularly in the Muslim countries,
while millions of innocent civilians were already slain in
Afghanistan and Iraq. He said it has now been proved beyond doubt
that Jews were involved in 9-11 events and even after that no
incident occurred threatening American security, but still
Washington continued relentless massacre and destruction of Muslim
countries.
Munawar said if Islamabad reversed the policy of supporting US war
on terror and withdrew army from tribal areas, peace would be
established in the country. He said bomb blasts are a direct
response to American war and Islamabad's support in it. He said
Pakistan would become a more secure state if Washington stopped
backing military dictators.
