LAHORE, Feb 1: Jamaat-e-Islami naib ameer Hafiz
Mohammad Idris has said that no question of free, fair and
transparent elections arises without first having an independent
judiciary and independent election commission in the country. He
said present and previous rulers have completed all arrangements of
rigging the elections, and all the contesting parties will have no
choice but to observe a "Sham-e-Ghariban" on Feb 18, he said while
delivering Friday sermon at Mansoorah mosque.
He said any country without an independent judiciary is considered
uncivilized and if judiciary is attacked in any part of the world
the entire globe is shaken as a result.
He expressed sorrow that the world particularly the champions of
democracy and justice in the west kept meaningful quiet when
Pakistani judiciary was bulldozed and judges were sacked and
arrested in stark violation of the constitution and global norms. He
said Washington is backing a worst kind of military dictator in
Pakistan for its vested interests in the Muslim world. He alleged
that Washington has double standards and a hypocritical attitude for
Muslim world, which is reflected in its support to dictators and non
represented rulers in Muslim countries. Washington imposes and
backed military dictatorships in Muslim countries where elected
leadership does not suit its interests, like in Pakistan, he said.
He said enemies agents are imposed on Pakistan as rulers, working
for breaking down Islamic values at grass root level and crush
Jihad. Pakistani rulers are not only creating a civil war in the
country but also destroying socio-economic conditions of the people
in order to weaken the country both economically and militarily. He
said unless Gen Musharraf is removed from presidency neither
positive change could be brought nor elections could be held free,
fair and transparent.
