LAHORE, Nov 13: PML-N chief Mian Nawaz Sharif and MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmad on Tuesday reiterated their resolve to launch collective struggle against the Musharraf regime to rid the nation of the military dictatorship.

They expressed the resolve when Nawaz Sharif called Qazi from Jeddah in the night and discussed the prevailing political situation. Qazi informed Nawaz Sharif that about his discussion earlier held with PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto who had called him on phone.

Qazi Hussain Ahmad and Mian Nawaz Sharif said it was time some progress could be made towards holding APC of the opposition parties at the earliest and opposition leaders needed to increase their contacts and reach some common agenda and agreement to promote cooperation towards launching a final collective struggle against the dictatorship.

Both the leaders also agreed that removal of Gen Musharraf and closing the chapter of military dictatorship for all times to come, besides lifting the emergency and restoring the judiciary to pre-emergency position could become common agenda of cooperation among opposition parties. (#)
