LAHORE, Nov 10: The PML-N chief
Mian Nawaz Sharif again contacted MMA president and JI ameer Qazi
Hussain Ahmad on phone Saturday and expressed his agreement with
Qazi's stance that lifting emergency and holding elections would be
meaningless without first restoring the judiciary and judges of
superior courts before Nov 3 position and reversing all the actions
taken under PCO.
According to a JI spokesman, both the leaders were in complete
harmony on this condition for lifting emergency and holding
elections. Besides, the spokesman added, both the leaders also
agreed that agenda of the forthcoming All Parties Conference should
be that chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhri and
other honorable judges should be reinstated, and no justification
whatsoever should be given to the mutinous suspension of the
constitution and imposition of PCO.
Both the leaders also had the same opinion that PPP should have to
agree with this agenda for returning into the opposition ranks. They
were also in the agreement that complete and sincere cooperation
should be offered to each other for launching anti Musharraf
movement and every phase of the elections.
According to spokesman they also expressed sorrow over a news item
published by an English newspaper from Lahore, and said certain
quarters were trying to create differences and misunderstandings
between them on the behest of the rulers.
They also warned the workers to be aware of mischievous elements at
this crucial juncture and asked them to forge complete unity among
their ranks. Nawaz Sharif also exchanged views with JI secretary
general Munawar Hasan and naib ameer Liaqat Baloch.(#)
