LAHORE, Nov 4: Jamaat-e-Islami
ameer and MMA president Qazi Hussain Ahmad has prayed to the
Almighty Allah to accept his life, belongings and children as a
sacrifice to follow His right path and enforce His system in the
country.
Qazi made this prayer while delivering the concluding address on
Sunday, the last day of the 3-day members convention at Shamki
Bhattian, 24 kms from Lahore on Multan road.
Qazi warned that as long as those who breached the constitution are
not punished with death as per constitution, the practice of
breaching the constitution will continue and organized efforts and
sacrifices are needed to stop this trend. He said we are not talking
about violating the constitution but protecting it from the
adventurers and military generals who violate it on gunpoint to
usurp power and people's rights.
Qazi announced to launch protests against the imposition of
emergency in the country by Gen Musharraf and directed the JI
workers to hold demonstrations at district and tehsil headquarters.
He asked the party workers to lead the demonstrations and they
should remove this complain in future that JI workers would not come
out on streets.
JI Naib ameers Prof Ghafoor and Liaqat Baloch, Deputy secretary
general Farid Paracha and others also spoke on the final day.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad said Gen Musharraf is fighting a war of US
interests against his own nation, using Pakistan army and national
resources for killing Pakistani people. The aim of this war is to
promote American, European and Indian culture in the country in the
name of 'Enlightened Moderation.' He expressed sorrow that people of
Pakistan are still enslaved by the military and civil establishment
which are resisting against giving them freedom. Even Gen Pervez
Musharraf while addressing Western countries and America in English
language during his speech, expressed his inability to establish
democracy in the country like the west and allow people their
fundamental rights like in the west. He said Gen Musharraf has
clearly depicted that we are still mentally enslaved by the west and
can put our people in jails without reasons whenever required.
Qazi said a prisoner in a torture center near Islamabad has told him
that he was in Guantanamo bay before coming there and that the
prisoners there prayed that they were better off in Guantanamo bay
since the Americans treated them better than their Pakistani
counterparts. Qazi said Gen Musharraf is a terrorist himself who has
massacred innocent children, women and people mercilessly in Jamia
Hafsa, Bajaur, Waziristan, Swat and other tribal areas. He said Gen
Musharraf has now massacred the judiciary by imposing martial law in
the name of emergency rule. Qazi said emergency rule do not require
removal of chief justice nor the suspension of fundamental rights.
He said struggling to achieve liberation from Gen Musharraf is
obligatory like liberation from any infidel or foreign occupant. He
asked the JI workers to come out on streets against this system of
cruelty with the spirit of martyrdom like other Muslim freedom
fighters who are running the liberation struggles in Kashmir,
Palestine, Afghanistan and Iraq under extremely difficult
circumstances. He said I declare the launching of movement against
this system of oppression from today and asked the JI workers to
offer Qunut-e-Nazla prayers along with the Fajr prayers everyday,
adding that he would make this announcement from the MMA platform
also.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad said we pay glowing tributes to Chief Justice
Ifrikhar Mohammad Chaudhry and other judges who refused to take oath
under PCO, while we curse Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar and those who
took oath under PCO. At this all the participants raised loud
slogans of "Curse upon them, Curse upon them", (Laanat, Laanat).
Qazi also paid tributes to the Supreme Court to declare null and
void the imposition of emergency soon after its imposition and
restore chief justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry. Qazi said those
judges who took oath under PCO have no legal and constitutional
status. He said there shouldn't be two chief justices in one country
and we don't acknowledge justice Abdul Hameed Dogar as chief
justice, adding that justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry is still the
chief justice of Pakistan.
