LAHORE, Dec 16: Deputy Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan and former Member National Assembly Dr. Farid Ahmad Piracha has said that an independent judiciary can only ensure the rights of oppressed laborers. He was talking to a delegation of Pakistan Workers Federation here on Friday.

Renowned labor leader Khurshid Ahmad Khan led the five members' delegation which called on the JI leader at party headquarters Mansoorah. Other members of the delegation were; Ch Talib Nawaz, Muhammad Ahmad, Zahoor Awan, head of PILDAT Ahmad Bilal Mehboob and Farah Zafar.

Talking to the delegation Dr Farid Ahmad Piracha said that his party has always voiced for the oppressed working classes of Pakistan. We have always advocated for the rights of laborers' unions and the party's central council in host of its resolution condemned the imprudent privatization policy besides demanding abolishing the contract system in the country. "The children of workers should also be provided education and respectable abode. He assured the delegation that the JI would continue to plead the cause of working classes at all available fora.
