Idrees criticizes Musharraf for dividing political forces
LAHORE,
Nov 25: Naib Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami
Pakistan Hafiz Mohammad Idrees has said General Pervez Musharraf
intends to sabotage emerging coordination between political forces
in the government and opposition to keep the relief operation
under the control of army.
He was delivering Jumma Sermon at
Jamia Mansoorah on Friday. Hafiz Idrees said those who are beating
drums on the “pledges made at donors’ conference” should
also tell the masses about the break up of debt-aid and donations.
Country’s international borrowing had already indebted the
entire nation and every newborn baby is under debt of 18000
rupees.
The JI leader said nation and
even European nations have been demanding to carry out earthquake
relief under the supervision of parliament because they fear lack
of transparency in spending through the army. He said Muslim world
had manifested great unity in this tough time and extended all
possible help despite the fact General Musharraf tried his level
best to create a wedge in the ranks of Muslim Ummah through his
“Pakistan first” slogans.
If the ruling class disbands
corruption and Muslim world is mobilized for the help of quake
victims, we will not be in need of any further aid and help from
Western countries, Hafiz observed and urged the masses to have
recourse to collective repentance and mend their ways at
individual level as well.
