Qazi Hussain Ahmed while paying glowing tributes to late Maulana
Noorani said it was to his credit that he got all the main
religious parties on one platform. “I appeal to the rest of our
religious groups to unite and enhance the MMA’s strength.
He was addressing condolence reference in connection with
the second death anniversary of Maulana Shah Ahmed Noorani, the
founding president of the six-party religious alliance, Muttahida
Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), at Amir Khusro Park in Clifton Sunday.

Noorani and leaders of the JUI factions, the JUP, the PPP, the
Sunni Tehrik, the PMLN and other representatives of other
political parties also spoke on the occasion.
In his address Qazi Hussain Ahmed said the main objective
of the MMA struggle was to bring an Islamic revolution in the
country. “We are vying for this revolution despite great odds
and obstacles being offered by the Western imperialist powers,”
he said.
Anas Noorani, son of the late Maulana’s son, said his
father was a great democrat and a Muslim leader, who impressed the
Ummah across the world. “He has great abilities to bring all the
democratic and religious groups under one umbrella,” he said.
Mufti Usman Yar Khan of the JUI (Samiul Haq), Mufti
Shafiqur Rehman of Holland, Dr Moinuddin of Syria, Mufti Jamil
Ahmed Naeemi, Pir Atiqur Rehman Faizpuri, Saleem Zia of the PMLN,
MMA’s Allama Hasan Turabi, Akhtar Nawaz Khan, Abdul Karim Abid,
Dr Mairajul Huda Siddiqui and others also spoke on the occasion.
