9/11 a pretext to grill Muslims: Qazi
LAHORE, June 4: Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal
president and Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Qazi Hussain Ahmad has said that
the incident of 9-11 was specially designed to crush Muslims all over
the world under this garb. After the fall of Communism, US has made
Muslim Ummah its prime target and NATO secretary general declared on
record that after Communism Islamic fundamentalism is the biggest
danger, he said while addressing the annual certificate distribution
ceremony of Syed Maududi International Institute of Islamic Education
here Saturday.
Qazi said now Pakistani government works as agent of US and NATO whose
military base has been established in Afghanistan near Pakistan
borders. Qazi said Gen Musharraf openly declares that country is
facing dangers from extremism, and is working as an ally of America
against Islamic movements. Qazi said Musharraf is also a friend of
India and have declared the killer of Palestinians, Sharon, as brave
general and courageous soldier.
The MMA leader expressed sorrow that Gen Musharraf is provoking people
against religious forces, asking them not to vote for religious
parties because they are extremists and instead vote for enlightened
elements. Qazi termed it an open violation of the constitution of
Pakistan.
He said Musharraf is also an opponent of the unity of Muslim Ummah and
is working on dividing Muslims into groups and regions so that they
could not get unite and even study at one place. Qazi said Pakistan is
a great blessing of Allah and the liberties people enjoy here are not
a reward from somebody but the fruits of the struggle and sacrifices
of our ancestors.
Qazi Hussain Ahmad said from the beginning military and bureaucracy
has been trying to eliminate Islamic leadership of Ulema in the
country. But, he said, we would protect the honor and independence of
Ulema since it is only because this that students from all over the
world come here and get acquainted with the work of Dawah and return
to their countries after becoming good Muslims.
He praised the modesty and simplicity of students and said they have
presented an example of Muslim nationhood practiced by the Holy
Prophet (PBUH) and his companions. He said sectarianism is only
referred to the religious division but in fact geographical division
among Muslim is also a kind of sectarianism. He said at this institute
we have made a successful experiment of making students from different
cultures speaking languages live and study together under an Islamic
environment.
Earlier, principal of the Institute Col (R) Umar Farooq Ghazi
delivered
welcome address and said one hundred students of ten countries are
studying there. Chairman, Islamic Education Society and JI Naib Ameer
Chaudhry Rehmat Ilahi, chairman of the institute Abdul G haffar Aziz,
parents and relatives of the students were also present on the
