Al-khidmat completes 100 houses in village Bajmori, Balakot Lahore, Dec 28: Jamaat-e-Islami's social welfare organization Al-Khidmat foundation has constructed 100 houses in village Bajmori of UC Shohall Moizulla in Balakot. According to a press release, the houses measuring 10x20 have been built with corrugated iron sheets, lasani wood sheets, logs and locally available stone blocks, and can house a family of eight persons easily. Eighty (80) houses under the project named Saiban were constructed by local youth while 20 were exclusively built by Al-Khidmat workers for the widows and orphans. Bajmori is among the hightest located areas situated at a height of seven thousand feet above sea, without facilities like power and gas, while all water pipelines were already destroyed by the earthquake. Here over 500 houses were destroyed and 270 people killed whereas 40 were still missing. Al KHidmat has also distributed 492 corrugated iron sheets in village Patlang of Shah Ismailabad area of Balakot for constructing 41 houses that were built by local people with self help basis. |
