MMA
demands Iraqi resistance to release aid workers
Lahore,
Dec. 6: MMA
deputy secretary general and JI Punjab Ameer Liaqat Baloch has
demanded of the Iraqi resistance movements to release the four
hostages belonging to Canadian NGO Christian Peacemakers.
Baloch was
talking to a delegation of various NGOs from Britain, Canada and
Norway, who apprised him about their concern over the hostage
taking of four members of Christian Peacemakers and demanded that
Iraqi resistance movements should not target the members of NGOs
working reconstruction of Iraq and in the fields of health and
education, says a press release on Tuesday.
Baloch
said the situation in Iraq was a cause of concern for whole Muslim
world but mentioned that the resistance to westerners in Iraq was
a reaction to the occupation of the country by foreign forces. He
said MMA demands all foreign forces to leave Iraq and also demands
the resistance movements to release the workers of Christian
Peacemakers and not to target other NGO personnel working for
health and education. He said this gesture will gain world
sympathies for the resistance movements and improve their identity
at the world level, besides increasing world pressure on the
occupant forces for an early exit from the country.
