Founded by Syed Abul Aala Maudoodi in 1963,
the Academy has studied problems facing the Muslim World and attempted to find their
solutions. It has translated important books and arranged stipends for scholars
specializing in certain Islamic disciplines. The research projects in progress are
codification of Islamic law, unanimous verdicts of various schools of thought, Islamic
economic system, and preparation of pioneer literature for its practical implementation
according to the needs of today. The Academy has also another campus at Karachi.
Mansoorah Hospital

Established in 1982 the hospital was initially
designed to look after Afghan war affectees. Later the facility was extended to the local
community as well. Now besides local patients Kashmiri muhajireen are also receiving
surgical and medical treatment. The hospital has an OPD, operation theater, labour room,
blood bank and ambulance service. With a 24-hour emergency service, it has all the modern
facilities like ECG, X-Ray, Ultrasound and a well-equipped clinical laboratory. The
doctors are qualified and competent in their profession.

for Islamic Education)

Established in 1980, the center has presently 200
students on its roll. Matriculation is the pre-requisite for admission. At the end of an
eight-year-programme, a degree is awarded. Students also appear in Punjab
Universitys B.A. examinations. Its own graduates normally do their M.A. from
Pakistani universities. About 500 of its graduates are involved in teaching in various
parts of the world. Besides regular teaching around 700 young men and women attend the
40-day special Quran Course in the months of Shaban and Ramdahan every year.
The center has 16 teachers and 10 other full-time employees. The Principal, Maulana Abdul
Malik, is a renowned scholar of Hadith and President of Ittehad-ul- Ulema Pakistan
and presently, member of Islamic Ideology council of Pakistan.

These three educational institutions have been
established by the Islamic Education Society, which was founded in 1982 and is currently
being headed by Chaudhry Rehmat Elahi - one of the Naib Ameer (Vice President) of
Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan. Each of these institutions has its own premises and they
are registered with the Education Directorate. Besides regular teaching activities in
these institutions, special emphasis is given on character building and extra curricular
activities.
Syed Mawdoodi International
Educational Institute

This institute was also established by the Islamic
Education Society in 1982. The Institute has its own premises where it moved in 1986. Its
faculty has 14 members who hold graduate, post-graduate and doctors degrees from
various universities. Its Director had earlier been working at American University, Cairo.
Most of the students belong to countries where appropriate facilities for Islamic
education are not available. Arabic and English are media of instructions; Urdu is also
taught. The subjects taught are: the Quran, the Hadith, the Fiqh, History,
Economics, Political Science, Philosophy, Sociology, Psychology, Comparative Religion and
Computers. Students are required to write a research thesis to get degree. Few of its
graduates are now quite prominent in their homelands. Its library has more than 20,000
books. Boarding House can accommodate 200 students. Scholarship for boarding and lodging
are provided to those who can not afford it themselves.
Jamiat-ul-Muhsinat (Center for
Islamic Education for Girls)

Initially at Faisalabad (Punjab) Aisha Arabic
Academy was established for religious, intellectual and practical training of girls in
order to prepare them for dawah work. Later, to enhance its efficacy, in 1990 the
center was shifted to Jamaats headquarters at Mansoorah, Lahore. Since then it
is working as Jamiat-ul-Muhsinat over there. The girls are given education to make
them aware of the basic teachings of Quran and Sunnah, and those
passing out may prepare themselves for further study so that they could be able to
establish such teaching institutions for parting religious education to the new
generation. Matriculation is the pre-requisite for admission. The academic year starts on
1st August and terminates on 31st July of the following year (two years). Examinations are
conducted on quarterly basis. The Center is affiliated to Rabita Al-Madaris Al-Islamiah
Board, Mansoorah for examination purposes.
Markaz Tehfiz-ul-Quran (Center
for Learning the Quran by Heart) (Ph: +92-42-5423483)
In this center children are taught to read the
Quran and learn it by heart (hifz). It takes a child two and a half years to
become a hafiz. Basic Islamic beliefs and morals are also taught. Foreign students
are kept in the centers boarding house free of cost. There are now 40 foreign and 80
local students on the roll. Alhamdolillah, at least one child is now a hafiz
in almost every household in the vicinity of Mansoorah due to this Center.
