Hafiz Sajid Anwar

Hāfiz Sajād Anwar was born in Karachi on 17 November 1979. His parental roots lie in Manki Sharif (Khyber Pakhtun khuwa).

 

He received his secondary education and memorization of the Qur’ān from Karachi, followed by his degree in Islamic Studies from the famous Jām‘ah Hanafiyah. Since his early days he had been associated with Jāmi‘at Talbah Arabiyah, a representative body of students from the religious schools. He was also linked with the student magazine Bazm-i Qur’ān first in Karachi and later in Peshawar.

 

His association with Jami‘at Talbah Arabiyah led him to different religious institutions like Dar al-‘Ulum Haqania Akora Khattak, Jām‘ah Ta‘lim al-Qur’ān wa al-Sunnah, Ganj Peshawar, Jām‘ah Imdād al-‘Ulūm Peshawar, Jām‘ah Arabiyah Hadiqah al-‘Ulūm Peshawar, and Jām‘ah al-Islāmiyah Tafhīm al-Qur’ān. During his studies, he continued to hold organizational responsibilities such as amīn, amīn a‘am and muntazim a‘la for three years. His da‘wah activities led him to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iran, Libya, Africa, Egypt, Sri Lanka, and Afghanistan.

 

After finishing his education, he founded Ta‘lim al-Islam Foundation and published a journal named Tafhīm al-Islam. He also runs Dar al-‘Ulūm Ta‘lim al-Islam in Nowshera.

 

In 2008, he became the Jam‘at na’ib amīr in  Nowshera; July 2008 he became deputy director of the Jam‘at-i Islami Pakistan education project Masjid Maktab Scheme; May 2010, he was asked to shoulder the responsibility of na’ib qayyam of the Jam‘at.
