Mian Maqsood Ahmad was born on 1st March 1952 in Lahore. Having passed his Matric from a LocalSchool. He did his FSC in first class from Government Science College Wahdat RoadLahore. Thereafter, he did his BSc Honors from University of the Punjab. And later passed LLB examination from PunjabUniversityLawCollege, and was elected as President, of the College Students Union. He remained President Islami jamiat Talaba Lahore from 1978 to 1979, and headed Islami jamiat Talba at University of Punjab, twice from 1979 to 1980.
He was appointed Secretary General Islami jamiat Talba Pakistan and worked as such from 1980 to 1981.He was inducted as Deputy Secretary General Punjab, Chapter of the Party, from 1986 to 1989. And later he was made Secretary General of the Provincial Organization. He haded Jamaat-e-Islami Lahore from 1999 to 2004 and popularized the Party in the Town as a result whereof, Jamaat performed very well in the Local Body Elections held in 2000 and subsequently in general elections in 2002 bagging three National Assembly Seats and two for the provincial Assembly which is a record so far.
He is sitting Deputy Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Paksitan since 2004. He is founder member and vice Chairman of Ghazali Education Trust and Shohda-e-Islam Foundation (for Martyrs of Islam). He is man of keen observation and industry is his mode of life. Moreover he is a clear headed man, and has resolved many tangled matters justly, arbitration whereof, was entrusted to him.
