JI condemns MFN status for India
LAHORE, Feb. 4: The Jamaat e Islami has condemned the government for granting Most Favourite Nations status to India and said the present rulers had proved themselves more pro-India than military dictator Pervez Musharraf. Talking to media men at a photo exhibition organized by the Pakistan Association of Photo Journalists, in connection with the Kashmir Solidarity Day, he said this decision was treachery with the martyrs of Kashmir and would disappoint the Kashmiris. However, he said the Pakistani nation would continue to support the Kashmiri’s right to self determination, and added that no other option was acceptable on this issue.
Liaqat Baloch said that India had been occupying Kashmri for last six decades unlawfully through brute force while the United Nations and other international bodies were partial on this issue and were openly siding with New Delhi. India was involved in terrorism in Kashmir. Thousands of Kashmiri youth had been martyred. The atrocities of the occupation forces over Kashmiris knew no bounds. In spite of that, the Kashmiris were fighting for their liberation and were offering every possible sacrifice. The human rights bodies were bringing to light the brutalities of the Indian troops in Kashmir, he added.
